Jan J.H. Joosten is the General Counsel at Neogene Therapeutics. Prior to joining Neogene, Mr. Joosten was a partner in the New York office of Baker McKenzie where he specialized in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, capital markets transactions and joint ventures. Mr. Joosten has lectured extensively on topics such as legal pitfalls for foreign companies doing business in the U.S., mergers and acquisitions in the U.S. by Dutch companies and U.S. securities law. He is the co-author of Legal Aspects of Doing Business in the United States for Dutch Companies and U.S. Securities Regulation — a Guidebook for International Companies. Mr. Joosten is fluent in English and Dutch, and has a working knowledge of French and German. Mr. Joosten is a member of the New York bar. He is a member of the Board of Directors and the immediate past Chairman of the Netherland-America Foundation, Inc. and the President of Leiden University Fund (U.S.A.), Inc. Born in the Netherlands, Mr. Joosten received a Master of Civil Law and a Master of Tax Law from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands in 1991. He received an LL.M. from Harvard Law School in 1992.
