Neogene Therapeutics is a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company aiming to change the paradigm of treatment for solid cancers. Our mission is to provide cancer patients with T cell therapies targeting mutated proteins called neo-antigens, which are present on cancer cells as a consequence of DNA mutations. Neogene is developing novel technologies to enable the engineering of ‘designer T cells’ with neo-antigen specificities that display an optimized ability to seek and destroy cancer cells.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Laboratory Manager to provide operational, technical, and administrative support to the Translational Sciences team, through management, planning, and allocation of resources.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage inventory, storage, restocking and usage of products using a cloud-based electronic laboratory notebook, guaranteeing resource availability and stock traceability.
  • Execute purchase orders using a designated procurement software, as well as evaluate and provide purchasing recommendations for laboratory reagents and supplies.
  • Support management of inventory storage and usage of cell lines and clinical samples.
  • Assist with developing and implementing new laboratory procedures and quality systems.
  • Run routine operational checks and/or calibrations on instruments, and schedule regular laboratory equipment maintenance services by vendors, ensuring thorough record-keeping of repairs and maintenance documentation.
  • Support laboratory setup and provide training during onboarding of new hires.
  • Develop and implement laboratory safety programs and manage laboratory safety practices and inspections. Supervise lab personnel and ensure compliance.
  • Assist in SOP writing and standardization of laboratory methods and procedures.
  • Assist in other duties as required, including but not limited to assay development, execution of experiments and reporting results.


  • Minimum required education/experience: BS +4 years or MS +2 years. 1-3 years of supervisory experience highly desirable
  • Laboratory, project, and budget management experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech industry or academic setting highly desirable.
  • Attention to detail and optimal organizational skills, balancing time required for own administrative duties and time required to provide support to other members of the team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to efficiently communicate results to a diverse cross-functional audience.
  • Ability to work independently, while practicing active listening and providing continuous feedback within the team.
  • Analytical and critical thinking, facilitating troubleshooting, decision making, and issue resolution.
  • Working experience in cell culture, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA sequencing, ELISA/MSD, PCR and/or other molecular biology techniques is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly fluid company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
  • Financial awareness and ability to manage budgets.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
