Neogene Therapeutics is a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company aiming to change the paradigm of treatment for solid cancers. Our mission is to provide cancer patients with T cell therapies targeting mutated proteins called neo-antigens, which are present on cancer cells as a consequence of DNA mutations. Neogene is developing novel technologies to enable the engineering of ‘designer T cells’ with neo-antigen specificities that display an optimized ability to seek and destroy cancer cells.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Logistics Associate Director.  The Logistics Associate Director will be responsible for establishing full logistics capabilities within Neogene Therapeutics from the ground up to support a variety of expanding activities and functions, including clinical trial execution, facilities operational readiness, manufacturing, translational sciences, process development, and quality testing. This role reports to the Head of Supply Chain.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop a logistics strategy to support Neogene’s neoantigen cell therapy programs, including organizational, process, and systems capabilities.
  • Select and develop a logistics service provider(s) to support Neogene’s activities, including vendor selection, qualification, initiation of operations, day to day execution, and performance management.
  • Set up a Clinical Logistics capability to support Clinical Operations in clinical trial initiation and execution.
  • Set up other logistics capabilities to support other areas of the business, including manufacturing, testing, development, and translational sciences.
  • Set up trade compliance processes to ensure seamless and compliant import/ export.
  • Work in collaboration with other Tech Ops functions to develop and implement product traceability solution for Neogene’s unique personalized neoantigen process.
  • Support the implementation of cold chain packaging solutions.
  • Develop a logistics performance management program.
  • Work with stakeholders in Clinical Operations, Translational Sciences, Process Development, Analytical Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure internal customer requirements are met and plans are comprehensive and compliant.
  • Act as a primary point of contact with logistics service providers and internal stakeholders for logistics operations.
  • Provides input to overall supply chain strategy and goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years with BS/BA or 8+ years with MS/MA or MBA.
  • Direct experience and working knowledge in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, logistics, cold chain operations, trade compliance, and Good Distribution Practices.
  • Direct experience working with logistics service providers: Excellent supplier relationship building and negotiation skills, good knowledge of logistics technologies and systems integrations.
  • Experience managing and developing staff.
  • Able to independently translate overall direction and strategy into functional strategy and work plans.
  • Demonstrates active listening and continuous feedback within team, ability to facilitate problem solving, decision making, and issue resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communicator across organizational levels and functions in this collaborative work environment.
  • Develops solutions with creativity and innovative approaches.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly fluid company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
  • 10% travel may be required.
  • Cell therapy experience preferred
  • Clinical logistics experience preferred
  • Experience with global logistics and associated regulations such as trade compliance, GDPR
  • Knowledgeable with cGxP as well as regulatory regulations and compliance requirements for cell therapy and pharmaceutical industry
  • Able to express ideas and present information effectively to leadership, within team functions, and to external partners
  • Ability to think critically with demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Contributes to the development of complex new concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Considered expert in field within the organization.
