Neogene Therapeutics is a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company aiming to change the paradigm of treatment for solid cancers. Our mission is to provide cancer patients with T cell therapies targeting mutated proteins called neo-antigens, which are present on cancer cells as a consequence of DNA mutations. Neogene is developing novel technologies to enable the engineering of ‘designer T cells’ with neo-antigen specificities that display an optimized ability to seek and destroy cancer cells.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Facility Manager / Sr. Engineer, depending on experience, to work in an emerging space in cell therapy at Neogene Therapeutics. Neogene Therapeutics is an exciting start up and growing company that is uniquely addressing the field of solid tumor personalized cell therapy with an innovative approach targeting tumor neoantigens. Neogene Therapeutics operations are based in Santa Monica (CA), US and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

This role reports directly to the Associate Director Facility and Engineering based in The Netherlands.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages day to day Facility and Engineering activities of Neogene’s existing research lab and a newly established TCR Selection facility in Amsterdam.
  • Implements, maintains, and manages a fit for purpose Asset Lifecycle Management System for GMP and non-GMP assets across all facilities.
  • Implements, maintains, and manages a fit for purpose Calibration/Maintenance Program for non-GMP and GMP Assets across all facilities.
  • Responsible for selection of vendors, execution of work orders by vendors and acts as primary point of contact for facility operation and services at the Amsterdam locations.
  • Manages and oversees execution of commissioning and qualification plan for existing equipment systems.
  • Manages equipment and system specifications, procures, installs, and oversees execution of commissioning and qualification activities of new equipment and systems.
  • Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Facility and Engineering department.
  • Ensure all materials and equipment are identified and available in time for the Research and TCR Selection facilities.
  • Develop and revise Facility and Engineering training requirements as needed.
  • Partner with operations and Quality to align Facility and Engineering plans with overall research and clinical plans.
  • Provide timely verbal and written updates to Facility and Engineering leadership.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Provides oversight and support for Facility and Engineering programs to ensure Safety, Quality (GMP, GLP) and Environmental Compliance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum required education/experience for BSc + 7 years, for MSc +5 years or for PhD + 2 years.
  • At least 5 years of pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in increasing levels of responsibility and operational excellence or Lean Facility and Engineering principles
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Clear understanding of GMP/GLP process.
  • Organization skills for day-to-day activities and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong work ethic and sense of purpose with a demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to drive safety, quality, functional, technical, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to inspire and foster innovation, collaboration, transparency, and team effectiveness.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and knowing when to escalate and when to delegate
