Neogene Therapeutics is a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company aiming to change the paradigm of treatment for solid cancers. Our mission is to provide cancer patients with T cell therapies targeting mutated proteins called neo-antigens, which are present on cancer cells as a consequence of DNA mutations. Neogene is developing novel technologies to enable the engineering of ‘designer T cells’ with neo-antigen specificities that display an optimized ability to seek and destroy cancer cells.

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Analytical Development (AD) team at Neogene Santa Monica. The successful candidate should have strong expertise in flow cytometry and cell-based assays.  This role will focus on the development of fit-for-purpose cellular assays using flow cytometers for characterizing patient-derived neo-antigen specific TCRs. AD scientists will also be key players for evaluating and implementing of technology platforms, assay transfer and assay qualification.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop robust analytical assays for characterizing T-cell therapy drug substance and drug products using flow cytometers and/or other immunoassays.
  • Author assay development reports with solid datasets to evaluate assay characteristics.
  • Perform analytical assays to provide insights for process development team.
  • Perform routine assays as a QC personnel for drug product release and characterization.
  • Drive assay life cycle, including assay optimization, transfer, and qualification.
  • Assist the establishment and operation of AD laboratories at Neogene Santa Monica.

  • In-depth knowledge in immunology with hands-on experience working with T cells is preferred.
  • First-hand experience in different cell-based assays (e.g., Live imaging, ELISA, or MSD) is a plus.
  • Prior working experience in a regulated environment (GLP, GMP or CLIA) preferred.
  • Technical-driven, detail-oriented data analysis skills and record keeping abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills for scientific studies and projects.
