Senior Associate, Analytical Development

Santa Monica

Neogene Therapeutics is a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company aiming to change the paradigm of treatment for solid cancers. Neogene is developing novel technologies to enable the engineering of ‘designer T cells’ with neo-antigen specificities that display an optimized ability to seek and destroy cancer cells.

We are seeking a highly motivated, data-driven researcher to join our Analytical Development (AD) team as a Senior associate. The successful candidate should have experience in flow cytometry or other cell-based assays.  This role will support the development of fit-for-purpose cellular assays for characterizing engineered T cells with patient-derived neo-antigen specific TCRs. AD senior associate will also be one of the key players for implementing technology and participating in assay transfer and qualification.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform cell culture and analytical assays for characterizing T-cell therapy drug substance and drug products using flow cytometers, luminescence microplate readers, qPCR or ddPCR.
  • Perform routine assays to support drug product release and characterization.
  • Complete testing and tasks as assigned in time and report results in detail.
  • Assist the establishment and operation of analytical laboratories.
  • Support cross-functional projects with research, process development and manufacture.

Requirements:

  • MS degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, or related discipline with 1+ years of relevant industry experience or BS degree with 2+ years with relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in executing and optimizing assays and analyzing data using multi-color flow cytometry (+10 colors) and data analysis using Flowjo is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in executing mammalian cell culture and analytical assays (e.g., qPCR, ELISA, or live imaging) is a plus.
  • Prior working experience in a regulated environment (e.g., GLP or CLIA) is a plus.
  • Technical-driven, detail-oriented data analysis skills and record keeping abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up company environment.

We offer the opportunity to join a highly dynamic growth-stage biotech company. You can expect a collaborative environment created by a team with deep scientific expertise and an industrial track-record in T cell therapies. We value proactive team-players who pursue their goals with dedication, endurance, and a daring mindset. If you share our commitment to make a difference to patients in need, we can provide a unique opportunity to be a major contributor to the success of a well-positioned, well-financed growth-stage biotechnology company.
